Police Chief James Donovan and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to a 2-alarm fire on Hall Street yesterday evening.
At 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, Raynham Police received several 911 calls reporting a house fire at 295 Hall St. Raynham Police were first to respond to the scene, followed by Raynham Fire.
Upon their arrival, first responders encountered heavy fire conditions that were quickly spreading from the rear of the home. A second alarm was soon struck for a mutual aid response.
Crews worked quickly to knock down the flames and the fire was under control by 7 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Two residents were able to safely exit the home. The residents have since been reunited with their dog who had run away while the fire was ongoing.
The home is believed to be a total loss. The American Red Cross is working with the residents who are now displaced.
The Bridgewater, Easton and West Bridgewater Fire Departments and the Mansfield Emergency Management Agency provided on-scene assistance. The Providence Canteen responded to the scene to provide refreshments for first responders.
Raynham’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) also provided assistance on-scene.
Members of the Taunton Fire Department provided station coverage and Lakeville Fire responded to a medical emergency while Raynham Fire was at the scene.
“The strong teamwork that was displayed last night is what helped to bring this fire under control quickly and effectively,” said Chief LaCivita. “On behalf of the police and fire departments, we would like to thank all mutual aid partners who responded to the scene and assisted us in our efforts.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Raynham Police and Fire Departments and the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office.
